Obama’s latest priority: transgender workers, of course!

Let’s see, the Middle East is blowing up. An American Jewish teenager was murdered by Islamic terrorists, i.e. Hamas. Gasoline prices are skyrocketing and food commodity prices are as well.

We have a crisis on our southern border with illegal immigrants. There is a Marine still being unlawfully held in a Mexican jail, an American pastor in Iran, and Americans in North Korea.

Millions of Americans have dropped out of the workforce, millions have been added to the poverty rolls, and even more have expanded the food stamp rolls. Veterans are dying. A government agency is intimidating American citizens and destroying evidence. And the Supreme Court has ruled, unanimously, that our President has taken actions that are unconstitutional.

So what does President Barack Hussein Obama do? He doubles down and uses more executive action. What are his priorities? Why, transgender workers, of course!

The Associated Press reports that “The White House is preparing an executive order offering transgender federal workers formal protection from discrimination at work. At least two other measures already prevent the federal government from firing people for being transgender, so Obama’s announcement is largely symbolic. Still, advocates hailed the move as a powerful act of recognition for transgender Americans by the first American president to even utter the word “transgender” in a speech.”

“The majority of Fortune 500 companies already have nondiscrimination policies to protect their employees because it’s the right thing to do and because many say it helps to retain and attract the best talent. And I agree. So if Congress won’t act, I will,” Obama told a supportive crowd in the East Room of the White House during a reception marking Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month. The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBT rights group, praised Obama’s announcement as a “crucial and historic measure.”

We have historic and chronic unemployment with stock market bubble about to burst and Obama is playing “feel good” politics with a small special interest group. This ladies and gents is the politics of “low hanging fruit” — and I’m sure someone will find even that phrase offensive.

What I find interesting is that I always hear about getting the government out of the bedroom. But then here comes a group that wants government affording them rights and attention based solely upon what they do in their bedroom. Whazzup wit dat?

Am I the only one who finds Obama’s statement rather perplexing: “So if Congress won’t act, I will” — act for what?

How about all those pieces of legislation sitting in the trash bin of Democrat Senate majority leader Harry Reid? This is a lie of omission emanating from the winner of the “2013 Lie of the Year.” Of course he doesn’t say it’s a “do nothing” Senate under Democrat control that is refusing to take up legislative proposals.

Oops, my bad – they’re only willing to take up items that fit into their progressive socialist agenda. Heard anything about that Senate vote on Keystone?

Anyway, AP reports that during the White House reception, Obama thanked activists for supporting and guiding his administration on same-sex issues and equality policies.

So back in 2008 when he didn’t support same-sex marriage what happened — some type of epiphany? Yep, pandering for votes, just another case of O-ADD going on here — and oh by the way, President Bill Clinton signed legislation in 1998 that barred the federal government from firing workers for being gay and lesbian. AP says activists expect Obama’s executive order would include language specifically referring to gender identity, enshrining those protections in a more formal manner.

Marvelous. So as Rome burns, we clearly see where Emperor Obama’s priorities lie.
