Will Obama’s foreign policy missteps allow Islamists to take over Libya?

The mainstream media may prefer you to focus on the Veterans Administration scandal (or Solange and Jay-Z) because it can’t be tied directly to the faults, failures and shortcomings of Barack Hussein Obama.

But as the Benghazi select committee starts to turn up the heat, there’s another story in Libya that can’t be blamed on anyone but the president. Violence in the Libyan capital grows “minute by minute, hour by hour,” a defense official told CNN on Monday. As a result, according to CNN, the U.S. military has doubled the number of aircraft standing by in Italy if needed to evacuate Americans from the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli. Fierce fighting swept across the city Sunday after armed men stormed the country’s interim Parliament.

So why exactly did Obama commit U.S. military resources and assist radical Islamic jihadists in Libya? And don’t give me the ol’ humanitarian crisis line because if that’s so, why didn’t we do something in Syria?

I believe, without a doubt, something happened in Libya that will make Iran-Contra look like Romper Room, and this Obama administration fears the truth about Libyan intervention coming to light.

Back in Tripoli, the speaker of the interim parliament, Nuri Abu Sahmain, who is backed by Islamist forces, ordered troops known as the “Central Libya Shield Forces” to deploy to the capital Monday, the Libyan state news agency LANA reported.

And so it seems that Obama’s foreign policy actions in Libya effectively destabilized the country and turned it over to Islamist forces. The last thing we need in northern Africa — the Maghreb — is for Islamists to gain control of an entire country — one with vital energy resources, which could be used to fuel their continuing global jihad.

Meanwhile, the Saudi ambassador to Libya announced that his country’s embassy and consulate in Tripoli has been closed and the staff evacuated — as well as that of Turkey in Benghazi.

CNN reported that four additional U.S. V-22 Osprey aircraft “arrived overnight” at the naval base in Sigonella, Italy, to join four V-22s and 200 Marines that had been moved there last week. The V-22 Ospreys, which can take off and land vertically with at least two dozen passengers, are ready to be in the air on six hours notice, the official said. The aircraft and Marines are part of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response team, which was formed after the attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi in 2012 to provide closer standby military capability in a crisis.

At least the Obama administration learned a lesson from the failures in Benghazi — sad that four American lives had to be lost.

So I have to ask once again: exactly what is Obama’s foreign policy? And I hope presidential candidate-hopeful, Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State, can clue us into her “reset” button in Libya. But then again, what difference, at this point, does it make?

There are no means and manner by which anyone — including President Obama himself — can explain his foreign policy, but we’re living through the results globally. While it cannot be explained, I need just one word to describe the Obama doctrine — as well as his economic policies – but I’ll let you guess what it is.
