British politician arrested for publicly repeating Churchill’s comments on Islam

A little background on this one. You may recall hearing about UN Resolution 16/18 which was sponsored by the 56 nations of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation with the purpose of, “Combating intolerance, negative stereotyping and stigmatization of, and discrimination, incitement to violence, and violence against persons based on religion or belief. It was adopted by the UN Human Rights Council in March 2011.

Sounds nice huh?

Well, here’s where it gets you: arrested.

As reported by the UK Daily Mail, Paul Weston, chairman of the party Liberty GB and a candidate in the European elections, was arrested on suspicion of racial harrassment after reading Winston Churchill’s comments on Islam during a campaign speech. A member of the public took offence at the quote, taken from Churchill’s The River War and called police.

The passage from the book, written by the wartime Prime Minister and first published in 1899, focuses on Churchill’s observations about Islam while serving during the Anglo-Egyptian re-conquest of the Sudan.

Mr. Weston told his audience: ‘Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. ‘No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.’

Police officers arrested Mr Weston, mid-speech, for failing to comply with their request to move on under the powers of a dispersal order made against him. He was further arrested on suspicion of religious or racial harassment.

As reported in the Daily Mail, a woman in the crowd asked Mr Weston if he had the authorization to make this speech. When he answered that he didn’t, she told him, “It’s disgusting,” and then called the police. Six or seven officers arrived. They talked with the people standing nearby, asking questions about what had happened. ‘The police had a long discussion with Mr Weston, lasting about 40 minutes. Ultimately he was arrested. They searched him, put him in a police van and took him away.

I guess there’s no right to free speech, expression or right to assembly in England anymore.

The Liberty GB mission statement reveals what the party believes to be the ‘most important issues of our time’ – namely ‘mass immigration from the Third World, the steady rise of fundamentalist Islam and the hijacking of traditional British culture and institutions by well-organized left-wing progressives’ — gee, does that sound familiar (America)?

We reported on the formation of the Muslim Brotherhood-centric US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO) whose stated purpose is to advocate and promote policies favoring Islamists. So one has to ponder, how long will it be before a complaint from that organization or CAIR will result in an American being carted off to jail? Don’t laugh — they were successful in getting Ayaan Hirsi Ali disinvited to Brandeis University and sent out fundraising solicitations applauding what they had accomplished.

What is happening in Western civilization? There would be no England if not for Sir Winston Churchill, and now repeating his words publicly lands a British citizen in jail? Churchill’s words should be taught in school as a sense of English history and pride, revered — instead there is shame? Churchill’s very precise and insightful words are now the basis for a British politician arrested with the crime of “suspicion of religious or racial harassment” — are you kidding me?

This not only angers me, it is of deep concern, as we in the West are being slowly neutralized by Islamists and their “useful idiot” liberal progressive accomplices. Again and again I will repeat, “when tolerance becomes a one way street, it leads to cultural suicide.” I ain’t shuttin’, up and I certainly will not succumb to this insanity.

Will you?
