It’s Christmastime and regardless what anyone else says, this is the time when the birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated and remembered. It’s a special time for Christians – like me.However, at this time when Christians celebrate the birth of the Savior, our Messiah — sorry Barbara Walters, we’re talking about the real one — this year we’re also seeing something horrific.
As reported in The Telegraph via BizPac Review,

“The United Kingdom’s Prince Charles addressed a problem largely ignored by President Obama — Christians are being targeted for persecution in the Middle East and North Africa by fundamentalist Muslims.
The prince made his remarks at a reception for religious leaders at Clarence House, the official London residence of The Prince of Wales.
It’s clear there is a wholehearted endeavor to “purge” lands and regions where Christians existed long before Islam was ever conceived. This Islamic totalitarian concept of Dar-al-Islam means that lands where Islam once ruled and conquered must be returned to Islamic dominance.
In opposition is what they call Dar-al-Harb, which refers to regions and lands occupied by “infidels.” We are witnessing the persecution and decimation of Christians in Egypt (Coptics), Middle East (Chaldeans, Assyrians), Pakistan, Northern Nigeria (via Boko Haram attacks), Sudan, and elsewhere — to include right under our noses in the western world. I find it unconscionable that we are not hearing more about this from President Obama — well, let me rephrase that, since the president was vociferous last year at the United Nations about defending Muhammad, I suppose the silence from Obama is to be expected.Prince Charles’ statement was a topic of discussion this week on FNCs “Kelly File” as well:
I don’t know if I should feel sorry for the cowardice Whitman possesses or buy him some nice pajamas and hot chocolate. He fails to realize that Islamic intolerance and violence against Christians is not about prejudice, it is historic, declared, and part of their ideology. Whitman as a gay Jew should scream the loudest since Islamists doubly see him as one to be killed.
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but good for Prince Charles,” Monica Crowley said, adding that it’s an issue that has failed to gain traction in the West “because it’s Christians who are being prosecuted.” And in typical fashion as a liberal progressive, the counter perspective of Democratic pollster Bernard Whitman focused on himself by totally evaded the issue and denouncing it. Whitman said, “that as a gay Jew, he felt particularly sensitive to the plight of the persecuted. At the end of the day, discrimination, hate, persecution, prejudice all comes from the same place — it’s ignorance, it’s fear and it’s wrong,” he added.
Hat tip to Prince Charles — but I would almost bet Bernard Whitman has a “coexist” bumper sticker on his moped.
