House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and DNC Chairman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz have both stated that Democrats will be running on the Affordable Care Act — but for some odd reason, they don’t like to say Obamacare — hmm, I wonder why?Just yesterday, Utah’s 14-year Congressman Jim Matheson say adios, thanks to Obamacare. Perhaps Rep. Matheson read a report from the Associated Press that said “Americans who already have health insurance are blaming President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul for their rising premiums and deductibles, and overall 3 in 4 say the rollout of coverage for the uninsured has gone poorly.” Gee, ya think? And it doesn’t seem like a “Mommy Summit” in the White House will solve the problem.
According to the AP story:
There is a striking level of unease about the law among people who have health insurance and aren’t looking for government help. Those are the 85 percent of Americans who the White House says don’t have to be worried about the president’s historic push to expand coverage for the uninsured.
We are fast approaching the adjusted December 23rd deadline for Americans to sign up and get healthcare coverage by January first — which, don’t forget, was changed by imperial edict from December 15th — in order to not be penalized by the individual mandate. However, it seems the actual definition of “signed up” is a moving target as well, changing from having a paid policy, to just having a downpayment on a policy, or even just putting in a request.
“Rightly or wrongly, people with private insurance looking at next year are really worried about what is going to happen,” said Robert Blendon, a professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, who tracks public opinion on health care issues. “The website is not the whole story.” Disapproval of Obama’s handling of health care topped 60 percent in the poll.
Consider the news out of Oregon, a state where the objective for Obamacare signups is approximately 92,000 — they have less than 50 signed up. What level of depraved state has the office of the President of the United States descended to when the holder of that office sends out a “tweet” asking young people to sit around in pajamas, drink hot chocolate, and talk about signing up for Obamacare over the Christmas holiday season?
If I were President Obama I would fly Air Force One to the North Pole, not Hawaii, and ask Santa to bring him some credibility. However, since Santa Claus’ insurance costs have risen for his elf helpers, I think Obama will get a lump of coal.
