Many of us who cover these types of events were, admittedly, somewhat dreading having to stomach a full week of watching the Democrat National Convention. A full week of pandering, celebrating victimhood, fighting for _______ [fill in the blank] justice and equality and the shouting phony narratives by some of the most corrupt hypocrites around just seemed like it might be too much to bear.
So imagine our delight to find that we weren’t the only ones calling B.S. on the whole charade. In fact, on this opening day — the theme for which is “United Together” — we’ve seen a whole lot of Democrats calling out the Democrat party machine for its phoniness and corruption.
So far, just about every Democrat leader standing up in front of delegates today — from ousted chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to Sen. Bernie Sanders himself — has been on the receiving end of boos and jeers from the crowd.
Meanwhile, outside the convention hall, large protests continue in the brutal heat. Even left-leaning PBS reports that these protests “dwarf” those outside last week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
And when you hear what the protesters are chanting, you can understand why Democrat leaders are positively panicked.
Here are just a couple images from the same protests:
Seems like the Dems have quite a ways to go from here to get to their desired goal of “unity” by week’s end. At this point, there’s more unity between Republicans and Sanders supporters — united behind #NeverHillary.
Let’s see how far they get in four days.
