Poor Hillary Clinton seems to be having trouble keeping her men on message these days. Husband Bill Clinton’s off-script remarks, such as pointing to how bad things have been under Obama, continue to mount — inadvertently undermining Hillary’s own positioning as a third term of Obama.
And, this morning, while attempting to defend her, President Obama said one word Hillary herself has refused to say about the email scandal that continues to plague her. While Hillary continues to maintain the activities looking into her emails as secretary of state are a mere “security review,” the president this morning called them “investigations.”
Via The Daily Caller:
Barack Obama continues to claim that Hillary Clinton “has not jeopardized America’s national security” by operating a private email server while secretary of state.
In his first appearance on Fox News Sunday since 2008, Obama did however depart from Clinton’s refusal to use the word “investigation” by using the word.“I got to be careful because as you know there have been investigations, there are hearings, Congress is looking at this,” Obama said. “And I haven’t been sorting through each and every aspect of this.” Hillary’s not going to be happy about that. The president, however, went on to pile on a load of bovine excrement on top of his admission that the former secretary of state is, indeed, under investigation.
Host Chris Wallace asked Obama, “Can you still say flatly that [Clinton] did not jeopardize America’s secrets?”
Obama replied, “Here’s what I know. Hillary Clinton was an outstanding secretary of state. She would never intentionally put America in any kind of jeopardy. And what I also know, because I handle a lot of classified information, is that there are — there’s classified and then there’s classified. There’s stuff that is really top secret, top secret and then there is stuff that is being presented to the president or the secretary of state that you might not want on the transom or going out over the wire but basically stuff that you could get in open source.”
Wallace interjected, “But last October, you were prepared to say she hadn’t jeopardized and the question is, can you still say that?”
And if you thought the preceding was a load of cr*p, check this out. The president “guaranteed” politics won’t play a role in Hillary Clinton’s fate.
“I guarantee there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department of the FBI, not just in this case but in any case,” he said. “Full stop. Period. Guaranteed. Nobody gets treated differently when it comes to the Justice Department because nobody is above the law.”
And if you buy that, I’ve got a unicorn to sell you.
