In his last months as president (that has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?), President Obama appears to be trying to maximize his waning days at the biggest bully pulpit in the world. Using it to further his ideological agenda, apologize for America — and try to influence who replaces him in the White House come January 2017.
On his recent Asia farewell apology tour, we saw the president take some jabs at presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump’s foreign policy — to which many suggested, people in glass (White) houses are in no place to throw stones.
Yesterday, President Obama took another crack at the presumptive GOP nominee — and it didn’t quite have the, shall we say, impact he might have hoped.
During President Barack Obama’s speech in Elkhart, Indiana, on Wednesday, he didn’t mention presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump by name — but as the New York Times reported, there was no mistaking who Obama was railing against during his time behind the mic. While much of the focus was on the president’s strident foray into the 2016 election, one moment during his speech has been getting attention: Obama’s very noticeable stutters and extra long pauses while making a point about “divisions.”
“If we turn against each other based on divisions of race or religion,” he began — and then the president seemed to have trouble coming up with the words to follow “if,” which he repeated multiple times.Obama then came back with a warning to not fall “for a bunch of okie doke just because, you know, it sounds funny or the tweets are provocative” — along with some noticeable pauses — “then we won’t build on the progress that we’ve started.”
Here’s the clip:
And as you might expect, Twitter was none too kind:
Hmm, only when he lies? Though to be fair, he does stutter a LOT.
Gosh, can you think of a time when our nation has been more divided than it is now, after nearly two terms of President Obama? When we’ve gone backward decades in race relations? When religious liberty in this republic who made it its First Freedom is under attack by our own government?
Yeahhhh, pot, meet kettle.
What is abundantly clear from this little clip — and the full-court press the left has launched against Donald Trump — is just how rattled he has them. And despite their varied reasons they claim for fearing Trump (he doesn’t “sound presidential,” “he attacked a sitting judge,” etc.), they are just plain afraid that he will win and upset the machine they have built to remake the United States in their own image — for their own purposes.
