While Secretary Kerry, President Obama, and their intimidated congressional followers continue to paint over this Iran deal with rhetoric, this ugly portrait of the president’s failure has been restored by recent comments by Iranian military officials. This agreement is extremely complex and murky. But one thing is crystal clear: Violence will continue to be Iran’s foreign policy.
According to Fars news agency, a leading Brigadier General, Hohsen Kazzemeini, told a group of his soldiers in the Iranian capitol, “…they (the US and the Zionists) should know that the Islamic Revolution (Iran’s military) will continue enhancing its preparedness until it overthrows Israel and liberates Palestine.”
What may sound alarming to us is de rigueur to Iranian soldiers who serve Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, a man who has infamously stated, “(the) only way to solve this problem is full annihilation and destruction of the Zionist regime.” THIS is the United States’ new partner in peace in the Middle East.
This Administration’s empty words of hopefulness have not moved the Iranian leadership towards peace at all. Commenting on the missile-related part of the agreement, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said yesterday, “The US officials make boastful remarks and imagine that they can impose anything on the Iranian nation because they lack a proper knowledge of the Iranian nation.” The US and her allies “imposed” missile sanctions in response to illegal Iranian nuclear advancement years ago. Congressional sanctions like these brought Iran to the negotiating table in the first place, a successful diplomatic act by Congress for which this Administration has attempted to take credit.
Furthermore, in a blatant dismissal of the Iranian agreement altogether, Iran’s Defense Minister said this week, “Iran does not plan to issue permission for the IAEA to inspect every site.”There you have it folks…Iran publicly stating it does not intend to follow the agreement’s most critical condition. Plain as day and yet the administration either ignores this, does not believe it or worst of all, approves. While the aforementioned Iranian Defense Minister was describing Iranian noncompliance, Secretary Kerry said in a speech, “We have immense power to shape a safer and a more humane world.” We do, indeed, Mr. Kerry…the 2016 election is only 15 months away. But who’s counting?
