Americans are eagerly anticipating the first presidential debate of the 2016 election cycle. Monday evening will be the first time Americans will see Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton take on GOP nominee Donald Trump face to face. And a record number of us are expected to tune in, as The Christian Science Monitor reports:
The first on-air showdown between presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on Sept. 26 is predicted by experts to bring in as many as 100 million television viewers – reaching almost as many people as the Super Bowl.
According to The Hill, the 2012 presidential debates between President Obama and Mitt Romney averaged 66.4 million viewers across major broadcast and cable outlets. In contrast, the 2015 Super Bowl had 111.9 million viewers, which rose to 118.5 million during pop star Katy Perry’s performance at halftime.
Hillary Clinton has dramatically scaled back her appearances between now and the debate to rest up and prep for the showdown. And President Obama has offered his gal Hillz two words of advice:

As The Daily Wire’s Amanda Prestigiacomo ponders, does President Barack Obama want Hillary Clinton to lose?Be herself? Be herself?! Has Obama even met Hillary before? The woman is almost losing an election to a reality TV star who’s actually a Democrat running on the Republican ticket. Being herself is exactly what’s helped Hillary into her polling predicament thus far. For some reason, the American people aren’t particularly enthused about a deeply entrenched, life-long politician who is steeped in corruption and scandal, can’t tell the truth to save her life and lacks all capacity to seem like an actual human. Weird.
I mean, even if Hillary were to take Saboteur Obama’s advice and be herself, which horrific robot setting would she even choose?
It can’t be the Frighten Small Children Setting.

Definitely not the Insane Bag Lady Setting.

There’s no way the Pathetic Pandering Setting would work out.
Plus, the default Liar-Liar Setting is apparently incapable of being turned off.
Geez, Obama, at least pretend you want Hillary to win.
God help us all if we have to tune into 90 minutes of Hillary Clinton “being herself.”
Perhaps, as it is with most things Obama says, his advice to Hillary should be interpreted opposite to its actual meaning. Like when he suggested the world will be safer thanks to his “deal” with Iran — meaning, we’re actually toast. Or that it’s ridiculous to suggest the $400 million cash freighted to Iran in the dark of night right before American hostages were released was ransom — and indeed it was. Or that the “overwhelming majority” of protesters in Charlotte this week are “doing it the right way” — well, y’all have seen the pictures and videos to know the truth of that. Or how about the president’s statement earlier this summer that “we are living in the most peaceful” era in human history and that “the world has never been less violent.”
Notice the pattern here? President Obama’s statements are actually the exact opposite of what he must really mean.
So maybe when he tells Hillary Clinton to “be yourself,” maybe what the president really means is: “By all means, under absolutely no circumstances should you be yourself.”
