It’s his second cabinet announcement today, and also his second woman named. President-elect Donald Trump has just chosen charter school advocate Betsy DeVos as his Secretary of Education. Devon is also a GOP donor from Michigan.

As Fox News reports:
Betsy DeVos becomes the second woman chosen to fill a spot in Trump’s Cabinet. Earlier Wednesday, Trump named South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations earlier in the day.
Both selections require Senate confirmation.Trump calls DeVos “a brilliant and passionate education advocate.”
DeVos heads the advocacy group American Federation for Children. She’s known for supporting charter schools and vouchers. Before Trump’s announcement, some conservatives were complaining about DeVos’ ties to the political establishment. They also warned that she previously supported Common Core standards that Trump railed against during the campaign.
The 58-year-old DeVos is a former Michigan Republican Party chairwoman. Her husband, Dick, is an heir to the Amway fortune and a former company president.
Of course, most of us conservatives are far more interested in the qualifications of Trump’s team than the gender, race, religion, etc. they happen to be. And it’s heartening to see someone like DeVos, who advocates for school choice, heading up area so critical to our future (even if maybe it doesn’t belong in the federal government — but that’s a different story).
There is, however, some concern over DeVos’ support of Common Core — though there are conflicting reports on how much she actually supports it. No doubt all of this will be thoroughly discussed in Senate confirmation hearings.
In any case, to our liberal friends, how you gonna spin this into Trump’s sexism? We know you’ll try…
