It’s a rare day when I care to give Reverend Al Sharpton any more air time than he grabs — and even RARER when he says something I actually support.
But today, as he calls for a National Day of Prayer and Healing, I couldn’t agree with him more. Here’s his Twitter page where he promoted his announcement:
At tragic times like this, it’s more important than ever to recognize what binds us, rather than divides us (I’m looking at you, President Obama and Piers Morgan). And in that spirit, I wholeheartedly support Al Sharpton in his call for national prayer and healing.
If only we could hold off on the agenda-pushing that’s become inevitable surrounding tragedies like this – not a question of if, but when. Sadly, just hours after this tragedy, the agenda-pushers are already out in force, rather than focusing on the mourning and healing such an inexplicable event warrants.
