It’s no secret by now that the Democrat Party is completely lost. Not only did they lose the White House and fail to regain the majority in the House or Senate, but they’re the minority in a majority of state legislatures and governors mansions. Needless to say, the Party is a sinking ship (but the rats are still clinging).
An even bigger problem for Democrats is they can’t seem to stop making the problem worse. Instead of reflecting on why they lost so badly, they’ve decided to double down on the same tactics that cost them the election to begin with. Moreover, instead of coming up with ways to work with President Trump to move the country forward, they’ve resorted to making excuses and calling for phony investigations.
Typically, MSNBC can be counted on to defend the Democrat Party. After all, for years they were essentially the communications department of the DNC. However, even the most liberal network on TV is having a tough time defending the Party after last night’s joint session.
From BizPac Review:
The media expressed amazement at how lost the Democratic Party is as they listened to its response to President Donald Trump’s address Tuesday night. Many commentators criticized Democrats and their response to the address, reports Axios. Steve Schmidt, an MSNBC commentator, claimed the Democratic Party was “at the lowest point of power” in years. He also denounced the party for allowing an older Democratic governor to give the response, instead of a rising leader.

“And the Democratic response was made by a 72-year-old, retired, two-term governor from Kentucky [Steve Beshear]. Not by Kamala Harris. Not by Kristen Gillibrand. Not by the Castro brothers. Not by anyone who has a future in the actual Democratic Party,” Schmidt said.
MSNBC host Rachel Maddow agreed with Schmidt, calling the response almost as bad as former Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindahl’s Republican response in 2009.
For those unfamiliar with the custom, it’s typical for the opposition party to issue a rebuttal to the president’s speeches to Congress. Typically, the person issuing the rebuttal is a prominent member of the Party, or at least a rising star.
However, the Democrats wasted their opportunity on a retired former governor with no future in politics.
Even worse, Beshear’s policies were so unpopular in Kentucky, that the state not only elected a Republican governor to replace him, but the GOP also took control of the Kentucky House for the first time in nearly 100 years. Yet somehow, Democrats believed Beshear was the perfect person to represent their party on a national stage.
Clearly, the Democrat Party is in complete disarray. When even MSNBC can’t come to their defense, you know things have reached a real low. Not that you will hear any complaints from us.
