When it comes to the abortion debate, much of the attention centers around the fight to stop government funding. However, if you are a pro-life advocate, you might not realize there are other ways abortion enablers are trying to raise money.
If you are pro-life and live in Indiana or Kentucky, you need to know local Chili’s locations are helping fund Planned Parenthood.
From Life News:
Chili’s restaurants in two states are coming under fire from pro-life advocates for giving 15% of patron’s meal purchases to the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
Earlier this week the Planned Parenthood abortion business affiliate in Indiana and Kentucky posted a promotional code its supporters could use to request that Chili’s donate 15% of the pre-tax meal purchase to benefit the abortion corporation.According to the image the abortion company posted, its supporters can bring the voucher to any of the identified Chili’s locations participating in the give back program. The voucher is good whether people purchasing food at Chili’s dine in the restaurant or order food to go. According to the voucher, Chili’s will donate to Planned Parenthood 15% of the meal purchase between now and the end of March. Granted, the money you spend at Chili’s will only go to Planned Parenthood if you choose to fill out the voucher to donate, but why give business to a company that is willing to fund abortions?
States outside of Indiana or Kentucky don’t appear to be taking part in the promotion. But a company allowing the promotion to take place is one pro-lifers need to know about. Private companies have every right to donate to causes they believe in, but consumers also have a right to tell those companies how we feel about it.
With Donald Trump in office, a pro-life Supreme Court Justice on the way, and Congress making the Hyde Amendment permanent, pro-choice advocates are getting desperate. Thankfully, knowing about promotions like these means the pro-life community can make their voices heard through hitting Planned Parenthood where it hurts: their bottom line.
In response to public outcry, Chili’s has released this response:
“While our franchise partner had the best intentions; we have received growing feedback and concern from community members regarding the Give Back Event. This feedback does not reflect Chili’s focus on bringing communities together and the event was never intended to be viewed as a partisan event or political statement, therefore we, along with our franchise partner, have decided to cancel the event.”
