As we approach Super Bowl Sunday, anticipation is building for what is always one of the biggest events of the year. While the main focus is typically on the game itself, the Super Bowl offers a little something for everyone. Some of those not interested in football still tune in to watch the legendary commercials, others like to turn on the big game for what is usually a star-studded halftime show.
This year, the Super Bowl halftime show is set to feature Lady Gaga. When asked about her plans for the show, Gaga revealed some shocking news, surprising no one: she plans on making a political statement.
From Click on Detroit:
Lady Gaga confirmed she’s going to make a political statement during her much-anticipated Super Bowl halftime show Sunday.
“I believe in a passion for inclusion. I believe in the spirit of equality and the spirit of this country as one of love and compassion and kindness so my performance will uphold those philosophies,” she said in an NFL press conference in Houston Thursday. She said she has been conferring with Beyonce, who used her guest spot during Coldplay’s Super Bowl halftime show to make a statement on police brutality and the “Black Lives Matter” movement. “The only statements I’ll be making during the halftime show are the ones that I have been consistently making throughout my career,” Gaga said.
Gaga was an outspoken supporter of Hillary Clinton during the presidential campaign.
What a shocker! Another A-list celebrity has plans to tell us how to feel. Of course, the general public is already numb to being lectured by rich celebrities, so it’s doubtful her political statement will even register with most of the people watching the show.
The news of Lady Gaga’s stunt comes as multiple companies have revealed plans to air politically charged commercials during the game. Budweiser and Audi gave the internet a sneak peak at what their ads will look like, and they are no doubt political.
Anyone care to guess which side will be represented? You already know.
If you thought liberals would at least leave the players alone, you’d be wrong about that. Tom Brady has been getting grilled by the media. Was it for deflating footballs? No! He has committed the unthinkable act of having a long standing friendship with the democratically-elected President of the United States.
Super Bowl Sunday is a de facto holiday in the United States — a day we celebrate what we have in common, not our differences. Unfortunately, one side of the political spectrum is so convinced of their ideological superiority they can’t leave everyone alone and just watch the game.
