Following the inauguration of President Trump, Barack Obama went on vacation and kept a low profile. For those who opposed him for 8 years, it was a welcome break. However, recent news indicates the former president doesn’t plan to stay on the sidelines for long.
A few days ago, former Attorney General Eric Holder promised that Obama was getting ready to break his silence. And now, a former Obama aide is moving into his Washington home to help lead the Trump resistance.
From the Daily Mail:
Barack Obama is turning his new home in the posh Kalorama section of the nation’s capital – just two miles away from the White House – into the nerve center of the mounting insurgency against his successor, President Donald J. Trump.
Obama’s goal, according to a close family friend, is to oust Trump from the presidency either by forcing his resignation or through his impeachment.
And Obama is being aided in his political crusade by his longtime consigliere, Valerie Jarrett, who has moved into the 8,200-square-foot, $5.3-million Kaloroma mansion with the former president and Michelle Obama, long time best friends.Jarrett has been a close adviser to Obama for years, even living in the White House during his presidency. Now that President Trump has started the process of dismantling the Obama legacy, Jarrett will once again be living with the Obama’s to lead the fight against Trump.
According to one source, it was Jarrett who convinced the former president to head the resistance against Trump.According to the family source, Obama was at first reluctant to assume the role of leader of the opposition.
‘No longer the most powerful man in the world, he was just observing Trump and not liking what he saw,’ said the source.
‘He was weary and burned out after eight years in office. But Valerie convinced him that he didn’t have any choice if he wanted to save his legacy. And, as usual, he bowed to Valerie’s political wisdom and advice.’
The news comes just a few days after President Trump accused Obama of conspiring against him behind the scenes. Of course, the media immediately ridiculed him for the accusation, but it turns out he was right.
Unfortunately for Obama, Trump was elected in large part because of widespread anger over Obama’s policies. The former president’s landmark legislation, Obamacare, is extremely unpopular among voters. President Trump has started work on repealing that legislation, following through on a key promise he made during the campaign.
Obama leading the charge against Trump is further proof of just how out of touch Democrats are. They may call it a resistance movement, but the reality is that it’s an early start to Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign.
