YES! Look how some players are defying the NFL and HONORING the USA on 9/11…

After 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick recently refused to stand for our national anthem during a pre-season game, other whiny and privileged players and sports figures have been jumping on the bandwagon to voice their discontent with this greatest nation on the planet. There has been chatter about some of them using today, the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on our nation — and, coincidentally, the 2016 NFL season opener — to go even further and unite in protest of our nation on this day that signifies an brutal attack at the heart of our way of life. However, some NFL players are choosing to use their high profiles to honor and reflect on the victims of the horrific attacks on this day 15 years ago — and unabashedly show their patriotism for our nation and its way of life. Via Bleacher Report:

New York Giants receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz will pay tribute with customized cleats for both pregame warm-ups and their contest against the Dallas Cowboys.

They are not alone:

Tennessee Titans linebacker Avery Williamson also planned to wear special cleats, but the NFL was reportedly going to fine him if he did.

And though it was first reported Williamson had opted to go with his white cleats, to “avoid distractions” (classy on Willamson’s part) he appears to have changed into his patriotic pair, despite warnings of being fined:

[BTW, Williamson plans to auction off the pair to benefit Wounded Warriors.] The league is very particular about what players can and cannot wear. Ironic — or, more to the point, telling — isn’t it, that the NFL is fine with its players disrespecting our national anthem and our police (remember Kaepernick’s socks depicting police as pigs that he wore during practice?), but threaten to fine players for honoring our nation and fallen Americans? And flat-out denied the request by at least one team who wanted to honor the fallen police officers in Dallas. Pretty clear where the NFL stands on the political agenda… God bless those players who have the courage to stand up and use their platform to show their respect and patriotism for this greatest nation. And, may we add: God. Bless. America. [Note: This article was written by Michelle Jesse, Associate Editor]
