It’s been an unnervingly tragic day on the homeland for our U.S. Military.

Within hours of one another, two separate U.S. military jets crashed, killing one. A U.S. Navy Blue Angels F/A-18 jet and an Air Force Thunderbirds F-16 crashed Thursday in separate incidents in Tennessee and Colorado, according to officials, as reported by CNN. The pilot of the Blue Angels jet has died, while the Thunderbird pilot ejected safely.

And now, we are learning of tragedy striking once again at Fort Hood, Texas, where three U.S. Army soldiers are dead and as many as six others missing, after being swept away in floods.

WFAA in Texas reports six missing, with these details:

Fort Hood officials say three soldiers were killed and six remain missing after a Light Medium Tactical Vehicle overturned in flood waters at a low water crossing near Fort Hood.

The vehicle overturned at the Owl Creek Tactical low water crossing and East Range Road.

The three confirmed dead soldiers were located downstream from where the vehicle overturned. Names of the deceased will not be released until 24 hours after all next of kin have been notified.

A rescue operation involving local and state agencies has been deployed to assist with the rescue and recovery of personnel and property, according to a news release. Emergency operations include aircraft, canine search teams, heavy-ground equipment, swift-water rescue watercraft, and search personnel.

The search is ongoing for six Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 16th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.

Three other soldiers were rescued from the water and are in stable condition, officials say.

A truly tragic day at home for our U.S. Military. Our prayers go out to all of the victims, their families and military brothers and sisters.
