As North Korea preps NEW nuke test, Obama ADMITS this…

We’ve been reporting on what have now become pretty regular missile tests out of Kim Jong-un’s North Korea — most recently, one off a submarine over the weekend.

Today, it has reportedly placed a new missile, capable of hitting some U.S. military posts in Asia, on standby. This, just hours after President Obama acknowledged the United States is “spending a lot more time positioning our missile development systems” to “shield” ourselves from what he’s deemed “low-level” threats from North Korea.

North Korea reportedly placed a new midrange missile capable of hitting some U.S. military posts in Asia on standby, as Pentagon officials confirmed to Fox News Tuesday they saw indications that Pyongyang also was preparing for a fifth nuclear test.

A government official in Seoul told South Korea’s Yonhap news agency that the South’s military had unspecified evidence indicating North Korea would likely soon launch a midrange Musudan missile. A Musudan has a reach of 2,180 miles, putting far-off U.S. military installments in Asia in range.

North Korea typically conducts more weapons tests when South Korean and U.S. troops conduct annual springtime drills that Pyongyang views as an invasion rehearsal. This year’s drills end later this week.

Meanwhile, earlier today in an interview with CBS News, President Obama acknowledged the threat posed by North Korea, with the following comment (H/T The Hill):

“One of the things that we have been doing is spending a lot more time positioning our missile development systems, so that even as we try to resolve the underlying problem of nuclear development inside of North Korea, we’re also setting up a shield that can at least block the relatively low-level threats that they’re posing now,” Obama said in an interview with “CBS News” that aired Tuesday.

The comments suggest the U.S. is moving ahead with plans to deploy a new missile defense system in South Korea.

But Obama said the U.S. does not want to take any chances with “erratic” North Korea and its leader, Kim Jong-un, whom he described as “personally irresponsible.”

Several things are striking about the president’s comments. Interesting, for one, to see President Obama acknowledging the need for a system denigrated by the left. Think after seven years in office he’s learning? Nah.

What continues to baffle is how differently Obama treats North Korea from Iran. As Col. West has noted, Iran poses a greater, more immediate threat than North Korea.

What was it about Iran that made Obama so trusting? Why was it that the number one state sponsor of Islamic terror who attacked us, going back to 1983 the Beirut barracks bombing, garnered his trust?

There can be no debate that Iran has been far more dangerous and belligerent towards the United States. How can it be that Obama can believe in the Islamists of Iran yet portray some unrighteous indignation towards North Korea and Kim Jung Un? Doggone, doesn’t he comprehend that Iran and North Korea are birds of a feather?

And yet, we deploy our limited missile defense systems to shield ourselves from North Korea — while making “deals” with Iran that flood them with cash to continue developing and expanding.

Hmm, what could possibly be behind Obama’s inconsistent treatment of the chubby guy with the bad haircut in North Korea vs. the supporters of Islamic terrorism and jihadism in Iran?
