Marines SHOCK WWII vet when they show up at his door with…

It’s about time we get a “feel good” story, don’t you think? We’ve just been bombarded with so much GARBAGE from the left — not to mention frustration from the right – not to mention the cacophony of saber-rattling coming from Russia, North Korea and Iran – it’s nice to be reminded that we do still live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Ninety-three-year-old Captain Robert Woodbury was not expecting a visit from a group of Marines at his home in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.

It just so happens to be Fleet Week in town and the Marines heard he needed a new flag to replace the faded one flying outside his home.

They retired the worn and faded one and posted a new flag. But not just any flag – this one had just flown on the U.S.S. New York earlier in the day.

Naturally, Woodbury was beyond enthusiastic.

“I’m really red white and blue. I’m so pro-American,” he said. “I’m a Marine… Ooo-Rah.”

Woodbury had quite the life after the military as an entertainer and comedian. According to the Naval Air Station Museum of Ft Lauderdale, in 1962 after the Korean War, Woodbury agreed to replace Johnny Carson in New York City on daytime television as Carson “graduated’” to host “The Tonight Show” on NBC-TV. Woody also signed to do about half a dozen motion pictures, and later in 1967 he began hosting “The Woody Woodbury Show” a musical entertainment/variety show from Hollywood, which later evolved into the “Merv Griffin Show.”

Don’t you just feel better now? I do.
