You can bet this will discussed at length on The View, MSNBC and all the other liberal outlets. It will of course be chewed up and taken out of context and added to the other supposedly racist things Donald Trump has said.
So here goes…
In a phone appearance on CBS’ “Face The Nation, ”Donald Trump said Sunday that in the wake of the mass shooting in Orlando, it’s time for the United States to start looking at racial profiling as a preventative tactic.
“Well I think profiling is something that we’re going to have to start thinking about as a country,” the presumptive GOP nominee said in a phone interview with CBS’ “Face the Nation. “Other countries do it, you look at Israel and you look at others, they do it and they do it successfully. And I hate the concept of profiling but we have to start using common sense and we have to use our heads.”
“It’s not the worst thing to do,” he added.
In February, months after the Paris attacks, France announced it would shut down up to 160 mosques and seized war-grades weapons in many.Church Militant reported [S]everal of these [100-plus] mosques have been raided, revealing a “staggering” number of weapons and ammunition. (In February) authorities conducted a raid on a mosque in Lagny-sur-Marne, 18 miles east of Paris, and uncovered 334 weapons and a large quantity of 7.62mm Kalashnikov ammunition, along with ISIS propaganda videos.
Police also turned up recordings of chants “glorifying the martyrs of jihad linked to the terrorist organization Jabhat al-Nusra,” the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda. The chants were found among teaching materials for youth in a madrassa, or private religious school for boys, connected to the mosque.
As a result (of these searches), 232 Muslims have been taken into custody and nine placed on house arrest. Muslim-owned businesses and homes are also being searched, with 2,235 raided so far.
France currently has the largest Muslim population in Western Europe, with about 2,600 mosques total in the country. The Schengen Agreement, which abolished border checks among the 26 member states, allows residents of the European Union — more than 400 million — to travel freely throughout Europe without showing identification or being screened. The border policy may be reconsidered, as it gives easy access to undocumented migrants — including radical Muslims — to infiltrate the country and stage future terrorist attacks.
Gee, ya think? Not to trivialize any of this but there’s an old adage that certainly seems apropos to Trump’s comments and to the situation in which we find ourselves now: You fish where the fish are.
