Last week, our friends at Young Conservatives shared a story about FedEx driver Matt Uhrin.
When a bunch of
thugs protesters decided to burn the American flag at a shopping center near Iowa City, Iowa, Uhrin could not stand idly by.
Still wearing his FecEx jumpsuit he leapt out of his truck with a fire extinguisher, put out the fire and rescued one of the flags.
Here’s the original video (with profane language).
Uhrin declined to comment on the incident at the time but did say his actions were not related to his employer. Suffice it to say, many Americans were solidly behind his actions, and it appears his employer is too — at least enough to keep him on the job.
FedEx posted this tweet yesterday saying they have no plans to let him go.
We have reviewed the matter in Iowa City involving driver Matt Uhrin. He remains a FedEx employee & we have no plans to change his status.

While burning the flag is an act protected by the First Amendment, that doesn’t make it inoffensive.
In any event two members of the “protest” will be facing criminal charges including a fine and possible jail time for violating Iowa City’s public burn ordinance.
Only one thing to say about this story: GOOD.
