TOO FAR? Trump uses crude sexual term to describe Hillary

Love him or hate him, you must admit Donald Trump is at least entertaining. His no holds barred, take no prisoners style has rocketed him in the polls, ensured millions of dollars worth of free air time and caused many a liberal head to blow up. Yesterday was just a typical day on the Trump campaign trail when he turned his attacks on his Democrat opponent.

As the Daily Mail reports, “Donald Trump’s attacks on Hillary Rodham Clinton invaded her personal space in new ways on Monday night, as he riffed on her debate-night bathroom habits and described her 2008 Democratic primary loss to Barack Obama in sexual terms.

Hillary, he said in what might be the first brutal salvo in the 2016 general election, ‘got schlonged’ by the current occupant of the Oval Office when Obama came out of nowhere to snatch the presidential nomination from her.”

For the uninitiated, “schlong” is a Yiddish slang word for the male appendage, but different in nuance to the term “schmuck.” You might say, “oh that Chuck Schumer, what a schmuck!” But you wouldn’t use schmuck as a verb. You can refer to someone’s schlong, but as Trump used the word, someone can get “schlonged,” i.e. “shafted.”

While Trump’s use of the word as a verb may have liberals crying “oy vey” it’s not new to politics. As the Daily Mail recounts, “During a March 30, 2011 broadcast of National Public Radio’s ‘Talk of the Nation,’ host Neal Conan reported the death of former congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro, the Democratic Party’s vice presidential nominee in 1984 on Walter Mondale’s ticket.

After playing an inspiring soundbite of Ferraro’s acceptance speech at that year’s Democratic National Convention, Conan noted to panelist Chris Cillizza of The Washington Post that the Mondale-Ferraro duo ‘went on to get schlonged at the polls.’

Legendary Bill Clinton pollster Dick Morris used the word on the Fox News Channel in March 2006, telling host Bill O’Reilly that then-President George W. Bush faced a tough midterm election in Congress.

Bush ‘has now dropped to a point where Republicans are turning on him, the public is turning on him and all he’s got is a portion of the Republican base. And it is going to get worse – he’s going to get schlonged in the election of ’06,’ Morris said at the time.”

Has Donald Trump gone too far this time? Methinks not. He talks the way a lot of “normal” people talk, and they’re loving every bit of it.
