TERRIFYING fact emerges about Manchester bomber

Sadly the death toll in last night’s Islamic terror attack has risen to 22 people, with 119 suffering injuries.

ISIS has claimed responsibility and is threatening further attacks, saying,
according to the Daily Mail, ‘one of the caliphate’s soldiers placed bombs within a gathering of the Crusaders’. There are unconfirmed reports this afternoon that the terrorist was British.

Officers are combing CCTV to determine whether the attacker carried out a ‘recce’ of the arena before detonating a nail bomb as thousands were leaving the concert at 10.30pm.

Forensic and bomb squad officers are studying the remains of the device recovered so far but initial indications are that the bombmaker had used a ‘level of sophistication’ suggesting he had received training and not made it from ‘a terror recipe’ on the Internet.

One security source told MailOnline: ‘It is unlikely that if the device was sophisticated that the suicide bomber made it – experience shows that organizations are reluctant to “waste” the expertise of a bombmaker in an attack, preferring to keep him or her for another attack.

‘It is therefore highly likely that this terrorist is part of a cell or had a support network and they are the priority.

And here’s perhaps the most terrifying fact so far: he was known to authorities.

Anti-terrorist officers are now combing through hours of security camera footage trying to see if they can identify him on his way to the arena or perhaps in the days before as he planned his attack.

This morning, officers arrested a 23-year-old man outside of Manchester in connection with the attack, and police said they will expect to carry out further raids in the next 48 hours.

So this was a sophisticated, planned attack. Most likely part of a larger cell. The bomber was “known” to authorities.

And yet this attack still occurred.

Oh by the way, there are apparently 3,500 potential terrorists and 400 ISIS fighters back from Syria in the UK.

ISIS has promised more attacks. If British authorities can’t prevent attacks by people they already have on their radar screen, how on Earth will they be able to stop the ones who aren’t?
