First graders in Maine getting lessons on transgenderism

Remember the good old days when school was all about “reading, writing and ‘rithmatic?” Now it’s all about progressive indoctrination and yes, sexuality. Even in FIRST GRADE.

A listener to Sean Hannity’s radio show forwarded an email she received from her seven-year-old son’s teacher at Horace Mitchell Primary School in Kittery Point, Maine that made her jaw drop. And it makes me weep for our nation.

The teacher’s email reads: “Last week our guidance counselor, Dana Richerich, read a book to the class called ‘I am Jazz’. It is a children’s book about a girl that is transgendered. (Born a boy, but identifies as a girl). The book/discussion went really well. (I stayed for the lesson so I would know what the class was covered/discussed).”

According to Hannity.com, “the mother was less than pleased to learn that this book was involved in the class curriculum and says, “I feel like my thoughts, feelings and beliefs were completely ignored….My right as a parent to allow or not allow this discussion with my child was taken from me. It is very upsetting to me that I didn’t have an option at all.”

The book, “I am Jazz” is based on the life of now 14-year-old Jazz Jennings who, although born a boy, claims to have identified as a girl since he was two-years-old.

A blog post by guidance counselor Richerich stresses the importance of LGBT rights and claims, “Some may think primary school students are too young to worry about addressing issues surrounding gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) students. Not so, experts say. It’s never too early to begin teaching children about respecting differences.”

Yes folks, we have come to the point in this nation where transgenderism is just FINE to discuss with seven-year-olds – and even more mind-boggling, that public school time – funded on your tax dollars — should be spent on this subject rather than ensuring children know how to read, write, add and subtract.

“The concerned parent says her son had many questions for her after she asked him about the book. For instance, he asked his mother if he was “transgender” or not and also whether or not he could be “a girl in love with a girl.” The mother says that up until the time the topic was brought up in school, her son had never said anything like that before. “I was taken aback by it,” she said. “Being seven, once you put something in their mind they don’t forget so easily.”

But you must remember, it’s “never too early to begin teaching children” these sorts of things. If you’re a progressive.
