In 2013, New York City voters overwhelmingly elected Bill de Blasio as mayor, giving the liberal progressive 73 percent of the vote compared to just 24 percent for his Republican opponent. He promised to reduce poverty, homelessness and crime. He vowed to end “stop and frisk” and institute “police reform.”

Now, two years into his term, New Yorkers are living through the inevitable reality of liberalism: It’s not working.

The New York Daily News saysNew Yorkers overwhelmingly disapprove of the way Mayor de Blasio is handling homelessness and crime — and think the quality of life in New York City has taken a turn for the worse, according to a poll released Friday.

The new Quinnipiac poll found that 61% of voters disapprove of the way de Blasio is handling poverty and homelessness, which he promised to improve during the 2013 City Hall race.

And more than half — 53% — think the city’s quality of life is getting worse, not better, the poll found. That’s compared to just 14% who think it’s getting better.

Fifty-nine percent of voters think the mayor isn’t doing a good job stopping crime, compared to 35% who think he’s doing a good job, the poll found.

This poll comes a day after a separate Q poll found de Blasio’s approval rating was at its lowest ever — with 46% of voters disapproving of his job performance.”

In a related story, de Blasio FINALLY endorsed Hillary Clinton today and praised her “very sharp progressive platform.

So here’s a question for you: Do you think the same voters who aren’t happy with de Blasio’s performance will understand it’s the POLICIES that are the problem? Do you think then maybe they’d reconsider supporting another progressive next time, or Hillary Clinton for president?

I’m too realistic to hold my breath, but I will continue to hope.
