As we reported earlier today a “lone wolf” with a long gun shot and killed four women and a man last night at the Cascade Shopping Mall 65 miles north of Seattle, in Burlington, Washington.
The shooter entered the mall without a gun but then appeared on video about 10 minutes later in the makeup department at Macy’s with a rifle and opened fire before 7 p.m. local time.
Of course this raises questions. Did he act alone? Where did he have the rifle stashed? When was that planted?
How would you describe the suspect? Authorities have already decided. They’re describing him as “Hispanic.” Is he a “white Hispanic” like George Zimmerman? We’ll find out eventually.

Or is he a military-aged young man of Middle Eastern descent? Obviously there should be no “rush to judgment.” Except the rush to judgment is he’s Hispanic. says, The FBI said today that there is no indication of a terrorism link in a shooting at a Seattle-area mall that left five people dead.
“We have no indication this was a terrorism act,” Michael Knutson, assistant special agent in charge of the Seattle FBI, said at a press conference this morning. “There is no evidence to support that.”
But Knutson cautioned, “I cannot discount it.”
At the news conference this morning, Mount Vernon Police Lt. Chris Cammock said authorities do not know the name of the suspect, who has been described as a Hispanic male with “dark hair” in his late teens to early 20s wearing black clothes, based on surveillance footage obtained from inside the mall.
His weapon has since been recovered. No doubt its provenance will provide some interesting clues.
Certainly the gun control activists are preparing their talking points.
And our nation, already rattled by two terror attacks in just a week waits to learn if this attack was terror or just terrible.
