Airport gunman posted CHILLING message on Instagram before shooting

More details are beginning to emerge about Esteban Santiago, the 26-year-old shooter who opened fire in Florida’s Ft. Lauderdale airport yesterday.

While authorities have still not released a motive for the attack, it does appear he had a purpose.

AP reports, (via Yahoo) that the FBI believes The Iraq war veteran accused of killing five travelers and wounding six others at a busy international airport in Florida appears to have traveled there specifically to carry out the attack, authorities said Saturday, but they don’t know yet why he chose his target and have not yet ruled out terrorism.

FBI Agent George Piro said Santiago spoke to investigators for several hours after he opened fire with a 9mm semiautomatic handgun that he appears to have legally checked on a flight from Alaska.

“Indications are that he came here to carry out this horrific attack,” Piro said. “We have not identified any triggers that would have caused this attack. We’re pursuing all angles on what prompted him to carry out this horrific attack.”

In November, Santiago had walked into an FBI field office in Alaska saying the U.S. government was controlling his mind and forcing him to watch Islamic State group videos, a law enforcement official said.

At that time he was questioned, but released and was not put on a no-fly list.

As we reported yesterday, one online source called WeSearchr found public records for an Esteban Santiago in Alaska with an email account with the user name “Naota33.” This same user name apparently shows up on an explosives/weapons forum in a thread about downloading Islamist terror videos – from 2007.

As the puzzle pieces begin to come together, a new disturbing fragment has emerged.

The Sun reports, Chilling photos posted on Instagram show Santiago posing next to UK landmarks in a jacket emblazoned with a skull and cross.

One image appears to show the alleged shooter outside Bath Abbey, but it is captioned “#London”.

His Instagram bio reads: “Here’s to finding whether or not your mission on earth is finished; if your still alive … It isn’t.”

Social media is ablaze with theories and “discoveries” about the shooter such as this one, claiming Esteban lived within walking distance of the only mosque in Alaska.

Obviously, living near a mosque does not automatically make you a Muslim. I live across the street from a Catholic church, but I’m not Catholic.

However, as we connect the dots — and add a new dot with a message that sounds awfully like one about martyrdom, one has to wonder.

You’ll notice many headlines in the mainstream media characterize Santiago as an “Iraq war veteran.” Yep, just like Major Nidal Hasan was a U.S. Army Soldier who committed “workplace violence.”

In time the truth will out.
