College campuses these days have become cesspools of complete, utter, leftist insanity.
All one has to do is take a quick gander at all of the headlines pouring in from universities around the country on a daily basis to see this is the truth.
First it was safe spaces, then it graduated to punishing students for “white privilege,” and on it goes.
As if that wasn’t enough to convince the average American that college is a dangerous place for those with a brain, Orange Coast College in California decides to kick things up a notch.
This fine institution decided to honor a professor who recently called Trump’s election an “act of terrorism.”You can’t make this up.
According to Fox News Insider, A California college professor who called the election of President Donald Trump an “act of terrorism” is being honored as her school’s Faculty Member of the Year.Olga Perez Stable Cox, who also called Vice President Mike Pence “one of the most anti-gay humans in the country,” was bestowed the honor by a committee of faculty, students and management at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.
Cox drew lots of criticism for her comments to the human sexuality class in December, but refused to apologize.
Joshua Recalde-Martinez, a leader of the campus’ College Republicans, said on “The First 100 Days” that he’s outraged over the remarks and the award.
His group posted the student’s classroom video, which then went viral. Recalde-Martinez said he’s received death threats since that time and been labeled with a racial slur.
A graffiti message on a campus window referred to Martinez and his fellow College Republicans as “fascists.”
This is the kind of person who gets awarded for “educational excellence” these days? Yikes.
Just take a moment to imagine, if you will, the massive fallout that would have occurred had a conservative professor made this same remark about the election of Barack Obama.
Talk about going nuclear. Watch out.
Professors are supposed to be professional educators, folks who are able to articulate different points of view on an issue without brainwashing students to think the same way they do.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case at all. It seems these folks are more concerned with pushing an agenda and point of view rather than teaching young people how to engage issues thoughtfully.
Conservatives need to start flooding the market and taking positions in higher education so we can combat this sort of nuttiness.
