As President Donald Trump has largely faced charges of misogyny from the Left, the recent treatment of Mike Pence shows that even if Trump’s behavior had been the complete opposite, it wouldn’t have mattered.

What crime is Mike Pence guilty of? In a shocking exposé from The Washington Post (sarcasm intended), it was revealed he was committed to his marriage:

In 2002, Mike Pence told the Hill that he never eats alone with a woman other than his wife and that he won’t attend events featuring alcohol without her by his side, either.

The horror.

If you thought such a harmless statement would be unable to summon the outrage police, never underestimate the Left in the age of Trump.

VP Mike Pence's 'conservative Christian' faith is the explanation given for why he won't be in a room alone with a female who's not his wife

Sincere question. How is this different from extreme repressive interpretations of Islam ("Sharia Law!") mocked by people like Mike Pence

— Xeni Jardin (@xeni) March 29, 2017

Sincere answer: Sharia Law is compulsory, the Pence’s decisions are voluntary.

Also: imagine how repressed Pence must be if merely being alone in a room w a woman (any woman!) results in some kind of wanton sexual panic

What Mike Pence's unwillingness to share a meal alone with a woman who isn't his wife means. There are only a few possibilities. First…/1

His faithfulness to his wife is so tenuous that he thinks that if he eats with another woman, he'll probably have sex with her. Or…/2

— Paul Waldman (@paulwaldman1) March 29, 2017

He's afraid that if he has that meal, the woman will fall in love with him or accuse him of raping her. /3

No wonder there are never any women in the White House photographs. Mike Pence is terrified that he might have sex with one by accident.

At this point you’re probably thinking something alone the lines of “are these people completely insane”?

Yes. Yes, they are.

Clintons = Timeless love story
Weiners = Proof love conquers all
Pences = Sick depraved weirdos

Regarding Pence and his wife, his critics are used to the Oral Office, not Oval office, so a stand-up husband shocks them.

Huma Abedin would kill to be married to Mike Pence right now

— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) March 30, 2017

Kind of amazing that I've now seen multiple journalists who have had public problems with infidelity attack Pence.

*Mike Pence puts on a seatbelt*
Liberals: "Wow Mike Pence can't trust himself not to drive five minutes without crashing"

— Jack Shannon (@jackbshannon) March 30, 2017

What’s next? Revelations that Mike Pence filed his taxes on time, eats three meals a day, and attends church every Sunday?
