See why Bud Light’s latest ad will cause it to LOSE more customers than it gains…

After appealing to the patriotic among us by briefly renaming Budweiser “America,” the beer’s Belgian producer decided to dive into leftist politics, making the alleged gender wage gap a theme in one of its ads. Apparently, they haven’t learned that politics is about the last topic you want to touch if your goal is to sell a product.

The ad features alleged comedians Amy Schumer and Seth Rogan. “Bud Light proudly supports equal pay,” Schumer says. “Women don’t get paid as much as men and that is wrong,” Rogen adds. You can watch the ad, which repeats the myth we’ve already tackled a dozen times over on this website, below:

Now, we’re all aware the wage gap is accounted for not by discrimination, but by different choices men and women make in their careers. Men for example, tend to work longer hours than women, so it’s no surprise they’ll earn more. In fact, for that reason, Anheuser-Busch likely has a wage gap of its own — even though it would be due to completely normal causes.

And there’s good reason to think they do, as CNBC notesWhile Schumer and Rogen received equal compensation for their roles in the advertisement campaign, the company reportedly declined to provide information about how many women are employed within the company, how much they are paid and how much their pay compares to their male coworkers.

Schumer also told us that women pay more for the same products, which is why “Bud Light costs the same, no matter if you’re a dude or a lady.” It’s an interesting claim, as I (Matt Palumbo) have yet to see any woman have a “female surcharge” added onto her receipt, ever.
