Who do you think is the person least likely to sympathize with the Milwaukee riots? If I had to take one guess, I’d say the officer responsible for the shooting who sparked them.
He’s the only one in a position to know with 100 percent certainty that the shooting was justified. And as a black man himself who shot another black man, I think he’s pretty certain race wasn’t exactly a motivating factor in the shooting, so much as the “victim” pointing a gun at him.
In a strange twist, that officer, Dominique Heaggan-Brown is also a rapper, and once released a song where he raps that he’s going to “start a riot like it’s Baltimore.” Having listened to the song, he doesn’t appear to be trying to incite violence, nor are there any anti-police lyrics, making it tragically ironic.
As the Daily Caller reports: Dominique Heaggan-Brown, 24, who killed Sylville Smith during a pursuit last Saturday, has been with the Milwaukee Police Department for six years. He has been an officer for three. On the side, Heaggan-Brown also had a music career performing as “KB Domo.”
In 2015, KB Domo appeared with hip-hop artist Dae Flywalker in a freestyle cover of Meek Mill’s song, “Monster.” About 45 seconds into the song, he raps that he’s going to “start a riot like it’s Baltimore.” Just two months before the video’s June 1 release date, Baltimore was rocked by riots stemming from the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody. And now his promise has come true. He did indeed start a riot like it’s Baltimore. But probably not the way he’d hoped.
