The seemingly interminable investigation into the former secretary of state’s emails may be close to finally wrapping up. One of the surest signs yet that the end is near is what we’ve just learned is happening tomorrow.
The Daily Caller reports:
Former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to meet Saturday with the FBI, a source close to the investigation into her private email server tells The Daily Caller.
The source went on to suggest the interview may take place at her Washington, D.C. home.
The bureau’s interview with the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is believed to be the final step in its investigation into the potential mishandling of classified information on Clinton’s private email server.Hundreds of now-classified documents — some of them “Top Secret” — were sent and received through Clinton’s private server, which she housed at her New York residence during her tenure at the State Department.
The FBI has sought to avoid drawing attention to its probe by bringing in witnesses in secret. That strategy has been successful, as reports of the meetings have only come out after they were held. It’s nice of them to give her an interview that was supposed to be unknown to the public, at her own house.
Just days ago, Attorney General Loretta Lynch had a private meeting with Bill Clinton that only became known because a local reporter picked up the story. Since Lynch as attorney general oversees the FBI, even she understands why people were a bit suspicious of the meeting, though she claims Hillary’s email scandal was never discussed. According to FBI agents however, they’re “livid” over the meeting, not only because of the email investigation, but because of a separate investigation into the Clinton Foundation.
I (Matt Palumbo) won’t speculate on what Clinton and Lynch discussed, but when those in the political sphere are secretive, it’s usually not because they’re hiding something ethical from us. Same holds true for hiding one’s emails…
In any case, we can only hope the end is soon near… both for the investigation and Hillary’s scot-free existence.
