Isn’t it great when celebrities just assume that everyone else agrees with them?
After President Donald Trump referred to the media as the “true enemy of the American people,” George Takei of Star Trek fame decided to hold a poll on Twitter asking who his fans thought was the real threat. While he likely expected it to be lopsided against Trump, he ended up deleting his tweet after it the poll ended up a tie.
So who was to blame for this? In another tweet he then deleted, he blamed “alt-right virgin trolls living in their parents’ basement” (truly the only reason one would disagree with leftist wisdom).
In reality however, if Takei’s audience reflected the American political landscape, the poll would’ve actually been slightly in The Donald’s favor.
The breakdown showed the figures to be 81 percent preference for Trump among Republicans over the media, 8 percent among Democrats, and 52-26 for independents. Presumably, Takei expected results of roughly 1-99.
One can only wonder what explains his vendetta against Trump….
