There’s no need for any more Republican primary debates (unless we’re going to watch Trump debate himself — which admittedly is possible). And as the inevitable Democrat nominee, Hillary Clinton has refused to participate in any more debates against Bernie Sanders.
But that doesn’t mean there won’t be one more debate as the primaries officially wrap up.
Trump and Sanders have declared they’re open for a debate — with each other. But not only are they debating, they’re teaming up for a worthy cause.
Via U.S. Uncut:
Donald Trump just told late night host Jimmy Kimmel that he’d be willing to debate Bernie Sanders in California “for charity.” And Sanders is game.Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, was asked if he’d be willing to debate Senator Bernie Sanders ahead of California’s primary since Hillary Clinton rejected a Democratic debate invitation from Fox News. Surprisingly, the billionaire real estate developer was warm to the idea, saying he’d debate Sanders as long as the hosting network was willing to donate the ad revenue proceeds from the event to charity.
It didn’t take Sanders long to respond to Trump, tweeting his acceptance of the challenge:
Game on. I look forward to debating Donald Trump in California before the June 7 primary.— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) May 26, 2016
Considering the performance of the two in previous debates, expect sparks to fly.
Either that — or the two can discuss the one thing they have in common. That at least they’re not Hillary Clinton.
