Despite the many legitimate things to criticize President Donald Trump over, his alleged ties to Russia have been a favorite point of contention.
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, whose ratings got an anti-Trump bump following the election, (boosting them to the highest they’ve been since 2008), has spent more time talking about Russian conspiracy theories than all other topics combined.
Perhaps she should be broadcasting wearing a tinfoil hat, not only because the theories are baseless, but because even Democrats in Congress are finally admitting that there’s no evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia.According to The Washington Free Beacon:
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday that there is so far no evidence showing collusion between Donald Trump’s campaign aides and Russian officials.
Blitzer mentioned that Feinstein and other colleagues from the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence had visited CIA headquarters on Tuesday to be briefed on the investigation. He then asked Feinstein whether she had evidence, without disclosing any classified information, that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign.“Not at this time,” Feinstein said.
“Well, that’s a pretty precise answer,” Blitzer said.Feinstein’s direct answer contrasts with that of other Democrats who have claimed there is evidence showing collusion between Trump campaign aides and Russia.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D., Calif.), the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said in March that he has seen “more than circumstantial” evidence showing collusion.
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D., Calif.), another member of the committee, echoed Schiff and said there is “evidence of collusion.”
Of course, neither Schiff or Swalwell elaborated on what that evidence is.
There goes one less cause Hillary Clinton can blame her election loss on — though she has a dozen other excuses.
Speaking of Hillary, there’s more evidence that she broke federal law in regards to her use of a private email server (as we know for a fact that she did every time she sent classified information), than Trump colluded with the Russians. Unfortunately there wasn’t one one-hundredth the outrage over that.
