We’ve reported on numerous occasions on this website regarding the shady business over at the Clinton Foundation.
For one, it’s a charitable foundation in name only. The organization spends only 10 percent of its budget on charitable functions, and that’s the least of their worries. Wall Street whistle-blower Charles Ortel spent 15 months digging into the foundation’s public records, federal and state level filings, and donor discloses, and argues that they’re perpetrating a form of charity fraud, as “the foundation is not in compliance with some state laws regarding fundraising registration, disclosure requirements, and auditing rules.”
Now, after the FBI investigation into Hillary’s private email server failed to serve justice, congressional Republicans are coming after the Clinton Foundation. The Daily Caller reports:
A new congressional letter circulating among lawmakers charges the William, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation is a “lawless, ‘Pay-to-Play’ enterprise that has been operating under a cloak of philanthropy for years.”
The letter, obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation, is authored by Tennessee Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn who plans to send it to FBI Director James Comey, Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen and Federal Trade Commission chairwoman Edith Ramirez. The letter calls upon the three agencies to launch a “public corruption” investigation into the ties between Clinton Foundation donors and Hillary Clinton’s policies as secretary of state. The letter says there is a “pattern of dealing that personally enriched the Clintons at the expense of American foreign policy.”
To give just one example of the above allegation – the foundation’s Middle Eastern donors have been handsomely rewarded by Hillary’s State Department with weapons deals during her tenure.
Comey declined last week in testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to address reports that the FBI is continuing a second, ongoing FBI investigation into ties between Clinton Foundation donors and Clinton’s role as secretary of state.
Comey was asked if there were any other FBI investigations that touched on the Clinton Foundation. He deflected the question, saying he was “not going to comment on the existence or nonexistence of any other investigations.”
Blackburn told The DCNF Monday that “it’s my hope that they will investigate this and look at what is going on with that foundation.”
Blackburn also raised questions about the legality of all of the Clinton Foundation’s overseas operations. Originally, the IRS approved the foundation as a domestic public charity to finance and build Bill Clinton’s Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas.
How will the FBI address this one? I’m sure they’ll find all kinds of wrongdoing – then inform us that there’s nothing they can do about it.
