It remains a mystery why, if America is the racist, sexist, bigoted country that many on the far-Left portray it to be, immigrants’ worldwide desire to migrate to our country above all others.
So how are things for immigrants once they reach America? Aren’t things going to be extremely tough for them in Donald Trump’s America?
Well, let’s put it this way. It ain’t right now.
This chart, using U.S. Census Bureau data, shows the relative annual incomes of various ethnicities versus plain vanilla white folk, and it sure looks like the vast majority are kicking the white man’s butt when it comes to income. Just take a look at the numbers:
Think we’ll ever hear a lecture on the horrors of Lebanese privilege? Doubtful. And yes – this is in part because we’re taking in high-skilled immigrants from the nations listed above, but it goes to show that whatever specter of racism the far-left thinks acts as a barrier to opportunity isn’t strong enough to stand in the way of anyone with a set of skills.
And while we’re on the subject of debunking liberal narratives, we’ve rebutted the commonly cited “women only earn 78 cents to a man’s dollar” statistic before. Last year, a study examined more than eight million employees across dozens of countries and found the pay gap between men and women working in same types of roles, with the same responsibilities, in the same companies was 1.6 percent in favor of men.
This is hardly the first study to investigate this – which isn’t surprising considering how often the myth is repeated. Heck, a study from one of our own government agencies had debunked the gap seven years ago, as A Department of Labor study released in 2009, which reviewed upwards of 50 peer-reviewed papers, concluded the wage gap, “may be almost entirely the result of individual choices being made by both male and female workers.”
