Noted provocateur and filmmaker, Michael Moore just laid out a 10-point “plan” he hopes will make Donald Trump “toast again.”
It’s clear from his “plan,” he’s put more thought into it than much of his body of work. But one thing is certain: this election — for him, personally, and many on the left — has spurred people to action.
From this “plan:”
So the momentum is with us right now — and if we all just take a little time to do the Action Plan below, I’m convinced we’ll succeed in halting the dark force that is Trump. We can tie him up in knots at every turn, and eventually, we can bring him down. The plan outlines 10 things: 1. Daily calls to the White House and legislators.
2. A monthly visit to local lawmakers (or the White House, if close enough).
3. Forming “response” teams.
4. Join lefty organizations and causes.
5. RESIST! (calendar with rallies and marches)
6. Take over the Democratic Party — aren’t they the Democrats??
7. Help form “Blue Regions of RESISTANCE!” Free college! Free healthcare! FREE! FREE! FREE!!
8. Run for office!! (Let’s hope he’s not mulling such a run!)
9. Become the media!
10. Join the Army of Comedy! Mock Trump! Everywhere! Daily!
Rather than do any sort of post-mortem — like the GOP did after 2012 — the Democrats just decry everything the Trump administration is doing as (take your pick) “evil,” “sexist,” “xenophobic,” “homophobic,” “misogynistic,” ad nauseum.
When one of your “10-points” is to utilize the “army of comedy,” well, the plan clearly needs work. Sarah Silverman has tried that both intentionally and unintentionally — all flops. Samantha Bee, Chelsea Handler, Amy Schumer, Lena Dunham…the list goes on.
What the left continues to fail to realize is that in excess of 60 million people voted for Mr. Trump. Conservatives control the most governorships, House, Senate, and the White House. We were sick of plans like Mr. Moore’s. Even some Democrats are realizing that it’s been the same talking points, and the same actions (throwing gobs of money at problems that are still rampant and systemic), all to no avail.
March, rally (loot, destroy, lather, rinse, repeat) are all tactics used by the left –- and we still have a President Trump.
However, one thing to note: the left will not let up. It will be a 4-to-8-year-long temper-tantrum. Often after winning the presidency, and/or the majority of Congress, conservatives get complacent. The constant tears, wails and outcry from the left shows us we can’t let up.
What they do, we must counter. And, we have the numbers in our “army” to do so.
Moore advocates calling legislators and the White House daily to complain. We can do so…and compliment! Mr. Trump is doing everything he set out to do. While debating whether to have the president make an official state visit to the UK, parliamentarian Nigel Evans characterized the president in this way: “He is going to go down in history for being roundly condemned for being the only politician to deliver on his promises.” Given that, we can make daily calls to let our lawmakers — and the White House — know we approve of the fact our president is doing exactly what we elected him to do.
Michael Moore advocates forming rabid — ahem — rapid response teams to take daily actions. They use their “loudness” to make it seem as though there are more supporting their position than support the president. We must be equally loud in our defense –- through daily actions and at the ballot box.
The left will not stop now –- nor can we! We must combat this leftism daily –- on social media, by keeping the press accountable, by writing op-eds, by making calls. Our love can — and will — trump their hate!
