As you no doubt know by now, Donald Trump burst into the GOP presidential race with his statements accusing the Mexican government of dumping its criminals into the USA. Predictably, Trump endured the wrath of the liberal left (though that wrath has done zero damage to him in the polls), was called a racist, bigot and so on. But not only did Trump stand by his assertions, he successfully managed to shift the national narrative from being about “the Donald” to the question of, “Is what I said the truth?” He parlayed that central campaign theme to the top of the Republican pile.
The high profile murders of Katie Steinle and Air Force veteran Marilyn Pharis — among others — have done nothing to assuage fears. Nor does our president’s “open borders” attitude, which rolls out the red carpet and keeps it rolled out even when criminals have been deported again and again. But of course it’s racist or xenophobic to point that out.
Meanwhile, race relations appear to be at an all-time low since the election of the nation’s “first black president.”
Unfortunately, it would appear the left is right regarding the appalling level of racial violence in this nation. But there’s a big reason why the government is hiding its true nature.
According to Fox News, “the federal government can tell you how many “Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islanders” stole a car, the precise number of “American Indian or Alaska Natives” who were arrested for vagrancy or how many whites were busted for counterfeiting in any given year. But the government agencies that crunch crime numbers are utterly unable — or unwilling — to pinpoint for the public how many illegal immigrants are arrested within U.S. borders each year. In the absence of comprehensive data, FoxNews.com examined a patchwork of local, state and federal statistics that revealed a wildly disproportionate number of murderers, rapists and drug dealers are crossing into the U.S. amid the wave of hard-working families seeking a better life. The explosive figures show illegal immigrants are three times as likely to be convicted of murder as members of the general population and account for far more crimes than their 3.5-percent share of the U.S. population would suggest. Critics say it is no accident that local, state and federal governments go to great lengths to keep the data under wraps.”The estimated 11.7 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. represent about four percent of the total population, yet according to statistics compiled by Fox News, they account for 13.6 percent of all offenders sentenced for crimes, including twelve percent of murder sentences, 20 percent of kidnapping sentences and 16 percent of drug trafficking sentences.
“There are a lot of reasons states don’t make this information readily available, and there is no clearinghouse of data at high levels,” said former Department of Justice attorney J. Christian Adams, who has conducted exhaustive research on the subject. “These numbers would expose how serious the problem is and make the government look bad.”
And speaking of “making the government look bad” here are some other statistics on race and violent crime the government would rather you not know about.
The Black Lives Matter folks are building a cottage industry on the idea that black people are basically being systematically hunted down and killed by the police and white racists like nutcase Dylann Roof.
But the fact is, according to the DoJ’s own data, white violence against blacks is dwarfed by black-on-white violence. As the National Review reports, in 2012, “blacks committed 560,600 acts of violence against whites (excluding homicide), and whites committed 99,403 acts of violence (excluding homicide) against blacks, according to data from the National Crime Victimization Survey. Blacks, in other words, committed 85 percent of the non-homicide interracial crimes of violence between blacks and whites, even though they are less than 13 percent of the population. Both the absolute number of incidents and the rate of black-on-white violence are therefore magnitudes higher than white-on-black violence.”
By the way, this is the first time the Department of Justice released this category of statistics since…2008, the year Obama was elected president. Do you think there was any reason the DoJ stopped releasing the stats? And could there be any particular reason the DoJ decided to take a look at the figures now? Unfortunately, they don’t support the agenda.
How can we have an “honest conversation on race” if the government won’t even discuss the statistics? I suppose that’s purely a rhetorical question.
