Remember all those accusations about “the party of no;” calling Republicans during Barack Obama’s presidency “obstructionists,” and claiming they’d taken a vow to “defeat the president?” Of all those making such claims the past eight years, none was louder — nor more obnoxious — than Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA).
Waters is a regular quote machine no matter who’s in the White House or what topic is being discussed. Some websites have devoted whole sections to all the outrageous things the septuagenarian says. Since Donald Trump was only sworn in just over a month ago, there’s three years and eleven months left in his (first) term. There’s no doubt those webmasters are going to be wearing out mice and keyboards as they frantically try and keep pace for the next 47 months.
The election of Trump clearly has caused Waters to become unhinged as she has gone off on numerous nonsensical and/or rhetorically-challenged rants in recent weeks. She’s stated that she will neither meet nor work with President Trump (on behalf of her constituents). Before the inauguration she said that she would “fight him every inch of the way” prior to his even being sworn in. She’s even called for Trump’s impeachment (but failed to cite any impeachable offenses he may have committed) though he’d only logged three weeks on the job at the time. Rep. Waters is on record dissing President Trump for his alleged support of Vladimir Putin’s invasion of “Korea.” Even after all that, Waters’ most recent quote is a doozy.
Congresswoman Maxine Waters has called the President’s cabinet “a bunch of scumbags.”
It happened on MSNBC, of course (she’ll scarcely show her face on any other network) during a live interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hays:
“I just think the American people had better understand what’s going on. This is a bunch of scumbags. That’s what they are. Who are all organized around making money.”Clearly proud of her moment of dignified national service, Waters then jumped onto her Twitter account and tweeted out the “scumbags” portion of her interview for all the Twitterverse to behold:
Once again Waters makes it clear what she thinks about the will of the American people. You know, the ones who pay — and have paid — her salary for the past 26 years!

Eariler in the interview Waters (not so) clandestinely referred to Trump’s cabinet not once but twice, as a “clan.”
In 2011, Waters infamously shouted to a fawning crowd that “as far as I’m concerned the Tea Party can go straight to hell!” Who makes up the Tea Party? American citizens. So a sitting representative of the people telling the people they can go to hell. Nice. And now this: swearing not to meet or work with the man whom the people elected to run our nation and proclaiming he’s surrounding himself with a bunch of scumbags.
Yet this is the same woman who for years proclaimed that Republicans primary mission was to stop and obstruct President Obama. Amazing how that, like most, shoes — fits on the left foot but not the right.
