NYC mayor says bombing isn’t terror; MUSLIMS respond…

Yesterday in the tri-state area there were a total of five bombs planted within a 24-hour period. At 9:30 am a pipe bomb exploded on a military 5K race route before the race began, and last night there was an explosion in New York City placed in a dumpster. Another un-detonated device which appeared to be a pressure cooker was found a few blocks down the street.

Thus far there are no suspects, and New York City’s mayor Bill de Blasio has yet to acknowledge this was a likely terror attack. As IJ Review reported:  “All hands are on deck; injuries are significant,” Mayor Bill de Blasio told a news conference. “There is no evidence at this point of a terror connection,” though he did say it was “an intentional act.”

So it was intentional, but not an act of terrorism? Even if the motivation isn’t Islamic in nature (think: Timothy McVeigh), how many public bombings don’t turn out to be acts of terror? New York’s governor Andrew Cuomo was a bit more sensible, telling reporters “A bomb exploding in New York is obviously an act of terrorism” this morning. He acknowledged that it hadn’t yet been linked to any international group yet, however.

Meanwhile, ISIS social media accounts have been celebrating the bombing.

Vocativ reports, “The lions of the Caliphate roar in New York, we cause you pain inside your house, the carrier of the Cross,” wrote one Twitter user who went by the name “I am ISIS, come and block me.” The account was soon suspended. Another, called “The Lone Wolves,” tweeted with the Arabic hashtag #ExplosionManhattanNewYork “Oh God burn America, take revenge in the name of your oppressed slaves and believers’ blood.”

Others tweeted about “good tidings that keep coming” from New York, and one user affiliated with al-Qaeda in Syria tweeted: “Oh God go against America, the head of infidels. Oh God, count them and kill them one by one, and do not spare anyone of them.”

The following Tweet translates to “Allahu Akbar God burned America, may you avenge oppressed servants and traces of blood or continue.

The hashtag #ExplosionManhattanNewYork was extremely popular among Arab Twitter users (primarily those from Saudi Arabia), with many using it to spread anti-American propaganda.

This was a terrorist attack – the only question is who is behind it.
