New name being floated for Hillary’s VP (and it’s not who you think)

The presidential race has been a bit of a circus thus far – and there haven’t even been any vice presidential picks to spice up the race yet.

If Donald Trump gets the nomination, I’m sure whoever his pick is will be “the best” (and also a winner) — at least according to Trump.

As for the Democrat side of the aisle, the inevitable candidate is on track to win the nomination, and there’s a new name being floated for Hillary’s veep.

Vice President Sherrod Brown

That’s the scenario gaining steam among liberal Democrats as their presidential front-runner,Hillary Clinton, struggles to win white working-class voters in the race against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

Due to the aforementioned fact that Trump is attracting middle class voters, Brown would be a logical pick for Clinton if she’s going to try to leech off his base.

With Donald Trump increasingly likely to win the Republican nomination, some Democrats say Clinton needs to consider picking a running mate who can counter his populist appeal.

Enter Sen. Brown, a union champion in the mold of Sanders who represents the crucial swing state of Ohio.

NBC’s Chuck Todd and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow have both speculated that Hillary would pick Brown as her VP last week. And others must be as well – for if you begin to type “Sherrod Brown” into Google, you’ll find “Sherrod Brown vice president” is the next-most-searched phrase.

However others have speculated Clinton would choose Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro. But it’s still just that – speculation. As the Washington Post puts it, Castro could be either the VP next year – or unemployed.

Hopefully the latter becomes reality – for him and Mrs. Clinton.
