DISGRACE: Clock Boy marks 9/11 with SHAMEFUL message, ‘RIP to the…’

Remember Ahmed Mohamed, a.k.a. Clock Boy? He made national news when he was arrested last year for bringing what was mistaken as a bomb to his high school, sparking a dialogue on racial profiling and Islamophobia in America. Anyone who actually took a look at the “clock” (that it turned out, he didn’t even make) quickly realized that the police were called because what he brought to school actually looked like a bomb.

After studying in Qatar for a year, Ahmed returned back to the U.S. in June. Since then, he’s kept a relatively low profile, remaining accessible to the public through Twitter. On the 15th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the United States yesterday, he posted a message there that was less than tasteful.

After five minutes of research, I found the total estimated civilian death toll from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to be between 141,868-153,436. A reminder of the harsh reality of war for sure, but a far cry from two million. If we look just at the war in Afghanistan, we get a civilian death toll even further from two million, of 26,270. Ahmed’s father is a 9/11 truther, but it’s unknown if the son shares those views.

Ahmed also posted under the hashtag #afterseptember11, where Muslims posted about alleged hate crimes they suffered after September 11th. In America, Jews experience hate crimes at a rate ten times higher than Muslims, but the narrative of an Islamophobic America persists in the media.

It looks like Ahmed forgot that the extremely minor act of “victimization” he suffered led to him becoming a public figure, got him an invite to the White House, thousands of dollars in gifts from Microsoft, a full scholarship to study in Qatar and internship offers from Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook, and countless of other opportunities.

There’s a problem of students being suspended for extremely trivial reasons (remember the seven year-old boy who was suspended for making a pop-tart in the shape of a gun?), but there’s no evidence to suggest that Ahmed’s religion had anything to do with his arrest. Back in 2001, in New Jersey, nine-year old Jason Anagnos was arrested, charged and convicted for having brought a fake bomb along on a gifted-and-talented class field trip. You’ve never heard about him, because he wasn’t a Muslim, and thus the media couldn’t push a narrative about Islamophobia in America.

Meanwhile, Ahmed’s family has filed a $15 million lawsuit against the City of Irvine and school district in August. How much longer will they be allowed to milk this hoax?
