Ted Cruz Just Got BAD NEWS from Texas Attorney…

Sparks flew at the recent Republican primary debate between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz regarding whether or not Cruz was even eligible to become President of the United States. Trump has changed his tune a bit ever since bringing birther charges against President Obama, merely stating it’s a “possibility” Cruz is ineligible, and that it’s going to generate a lawsuit despite the truth of the matter.

Well, it looks like Trump’s suspicion was right. As Breitbart reported:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) faces a “birther lawsuit,” from left-wing Houston lawyer Newton Schwartz, according to a new report.

The issue is the precise definition of “natural born citizen,” which is a requirement for any president.

“This 229-year question has never been pled, presented to or finally decided by or resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court… Only the U.S. Supreme Court can finally decide, determine judicially and settle this issue now,” Schwartz says in his 28-page complaint, according to Bloomberg.

Various non-mainstream critics say that only people born to American citizens on American soil meet that test — and that citizens who were born to non-citizens in the United States or who were born in a foreign country to immigrant naturalized-citizens don’t meet the “natural born citizen” test.

But it is unlikely that Schwartz’s lawsuit is going anywhere because he can’t easily win “standing.” That’s a basic requirement for any lawsuit to get its day in court — but likely he won’t get standing because he can’t show that he is uniquely and directly harmed if what he claims is actually true.

Nonetheless, his lawsuit may force Cruz to send some lawyers to the court.

Cruz is a citizen because his parents were citizens. But [his father] was not born in the United States, and he was born in Canada.

While we’re on the topic of birthers – remember when liberals were mocking Republicans as a bunch of crazies for daring to question Obama’s birthplace in the past?

Liberals are the guiltiest of this sort of nonsense, both in the present and historically. Presidential candidates having their citizenship questioned dates as far back as the 1800s, and includes candidates Chester A. Arthur, Christopher Schurmann, Charles Evans Hughes George Romney, Barry Goldwater, Lowell Weicker, Roger Calero and John McCain.

The thing they all have in common? They’re all Republicans – except Schurmann, who wasn’t a Democrat either.

The left has used birtherism as a tactic for over 200 years, and it still hasn’t gone out of fashion.
