A massive explosion rocked Ankara, the capital of Turkey earlier today. While the brutality of ISIS dominates headlines, sources thus far indicate a Kurdish militant group is responsible for the attack.

According to the Latin American network TeleSur:

An apparent car bomb went off in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Sunday evening, killing 27 people and wounding 75 others, according to the governor’s office.

Turkish broadcaster NTV says the explosion was caused by a car exploding at a bus stop near a park in the center of the city. Gunfire was heard after the blast, with a number of vehicles reportedly on fire.

Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Gozdag has called the episode an “act of terrorism.”

Sadly, this is just one of many recent terror attacks against Turkey. In October, 102 were killed and over 400 injured during an attack on a peace rally (believed to have been carried out by ISIS). In February, 28 were killed and 61 were injured in a similar car bomb attack.

Someone should send Obama the memo that climate change isn’t a greater threat than terrorism. Oh, he got it already? Never mind.
