Yeehaw! I’m absolutely THRILLED about what I’m doing these next four days…

One of the things I enjoy most is riding my motorcycle out on the open road. And I shared with y’all my lovely Christmas present — a 2016 Victory Cross Country 8-Ball. So the time has come to hit the open roads of Texas for a relaxing ride, but also for a great cause.

It was three years ago in the summer of 2013 that I met someone who has become a very good friend, “king” Richard Petty’s son, Kyle Petty. And I was welcomed into a very close band of riders on the 20th Anniversary Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America (KPCRAA). The KPCRAA is now on its 22nd ride and to benefit Victory Junction, a kids camp for our beloved children with chronic illnesses.

This year the KPCRAA will hold ten camps for kids with spin bifida, burn injuries, skin diseases, immunology, sickle cell and bleeding disorders, diabetes, cerebal palsy, neurological/genetic disorders, rheumatological and gastrointestinal disorders, cancer, heart, lung, and kidney disease, physical disabilities, and cranofacial anomalies. The KPCRAA raises funds in order to conduct the camp and have on-site medical professionals who can provide immediate care and attention to these, our American children, so they can have what every kid in America can enjoy — a summer camp.

This year’s KPCRAA will begin in Palm Springs, California. I’ll be departing from Dallas today, heading to Midland, Texas where I’ll stay the night. So if you see a fella on a sweet-looking Victory motorcycle, give me a honk and a thumbs up — and consider a kind donation to the KPCRAA and Victory Junction.

On Sunday May 1st, I’ll depart Midland for El Paso where I’ll link up with the KPCRAA riders at Barnett Harley Davidson and we’ll have a little rally and cookout. We’ll stay the night in El Paso and the next day head out for what will be a ride of a lifetime — through the Big Bend National Park where we’ll hunker down in Lajitas, Texas.

I’ll continue with the riders from Lajitas to San Antonio where I’ll bid my friends farewell and head back to Dallas. They’ll continue the ride to its end point at Biloxi, Mississippi.

Just like last time, I’ll be sending y’all daily updates from the road so you can see Texas through my eyes and shall send y’all pics of us from the ride. But please, follow us and come out to say howdy and support Victory Junction. That’s how Americans take care of our American children who are just a little less fortunate. I look forward to seeing everyone over these next four days — first stop tomorrow in Midland!
