One of my favorite songs from the 80s is “Words” by Missing Persons:
What are words for when no one listens anymore
What are words for when no one listens
What are words for when no one listens it’s no use talkin’ at all
Do you hear me?
Do you care?
That’s exactly how I felt after yesterday’s empty drivel provided by President Obama as he took to the podium to discuss the Veterans Administration scandal.
I listened to his words, especially this quote, “When I hear allegations of misconduct — any misconduct — I will not stand for it,” Obama said. “If these allegations prove to be true, it is dishonorable, it is disgraceful and I will not tolerate it — period.”First of all, President Obama’s use of the word if means he doesn’t believe there’s any issue in the VA. In other words, no veterans have died and all these individuals coming forth as “whistleblowers” aren’t viable in the eyes of Obama.
Seems this faux outrage is similar to the faux outrage about the IRS targeting scandal — anyone punished there? Mr. President, it is true, and it is indeed dishonorable, disgraceful — but it seems you’ll tolerate it because you used another key word: period.Have we forgotten that if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor – period?
Have we forgotten that if you like your insurance you can keep your insurance – period?
Of course those two statements ended up earning President Barack Hussein Obama the coveted “Lie of the Year 2013” – to put it bluntly, he was the liar of the year. So therefore shall his quote, his strenuous assertion of, “When I hear allegations of misconduct — any misconduct — I will not stand for it. If these allegations prove to be true, it is dishonorable, it is disgraceful and I will not tolerate it — period,” end up being the lie of the year for 2014?
What are words for when no one listens anymore? They’re meant to deceive and shift focus and no one does this better than Barack Obama.
His words tell me he cares little to none for my brother and sister veterans. To have the VA, a government agency, basically investigate itself, — well, how has that worked out for Operation Fast and Furious, IRS, Benghazi, and the countless other “phony scandals” of this most transparent administration?
No one is held accountable, no one is responsible, just move along and realize that I, Barack Obama, am upset only if this is true.
We don’t pay attention to words anymore, and the result has been the worst president America shall ever know — unless we fall for the same game the next time.
And oh by the way, don’t be deceived — those five Democrats selected to serve on the Benghazi select committee aren’t there to seek the truth. They’ve been selected to derail the process, and defend and protect liberal progressive (Democrat) interests.
If you do your due diligence, you’ll see most of them have made disparaging remarks about the select committee, describing it as a “witch hunt” or a “waste of time,” and even Pelosi referred to it as a “political stunt.” As for Rep. Tammy Duckworth, it will be interesting to see if her Oath of Office as a commissioned Army officer has a statute of limitations, meaning her oath to the progressive socialists and the Democrat party supersedes “supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic, and bearing true faith and allegiance to the same.”
Pay attention to words because they do provide a window into the mindset and the impending actions that one takes — that is if you care.
