White House just announced IDIOTIC change of strategy against ISIS

I’ve asked this question previously: how is it that France and Russia are bombing targets in and around Raqqa, Syria and we hear nothing about collateral damage? How can it be that — if as President Obama has stated — we have a massive coalition air campaign and there are targets such as command and control nodes and training bases still operating?

We know the targets being struck by the French in response to last Friday’s Islamic terror attack are the result of shared intelligence from the United States. So why haven’t we hit those targets? I’ve yet to hear about any collateral damage issues or massive civilian casualties as a result of these strikes — have you?

Could it be that all the talk about rules of engagement and restrictions was just smoke and mirrors from the Obama administration to create a false narrative?

And remember, when President Obama and his minions speak of 8,000 air strikes, that goes all the way back to August 2013, which averages out to somewhere between 10-15 a day. During Operations Desert Shield/Storm we were running upwards to 1,000 strike sorties a day.

As reported by the Washington Times, “Under pressure at home and abroad to wage a more robust war against the Islamic State, Obama administration officials said Thursday that the U.S. is prepared to expand its “rules of engagement” in the fight after the extremist group’s horrific attacks in Paris.

Top national security advisers to President Obama said the U.S.-led coalition is increasing airstrikes against fuel trucks and other “high value” targets of the terrorist organization in Syria and Iraq. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said attacks on fuel conveys reflect “changed tactics.”

White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said surveillance flights by coalition partners have provided the U.S. with intelligence to bomb oil infrastructure and cut off revenue for the Islamic State, also known by the acronyms ISIL and ISIS. Mr. Carter said the U.S. is constantly reviewing its “rules of engagement” in the fight against the terrorist group.

“The thing that most enhances the impact of the air campaign is better and better intelligence,” he said on “Morning Joe” on MSNBC. “We took out ‘Jihadi John,’ we took out the head of ISIL in Libya, we’re running raids like the one that got Abu Sayyaf.”

Let me reiterate once again that killing one person with a drone strike is not a strategy. And furthermore, has anyone heard anything more about the 50 US Special Operations forces that Obama deployed into Syria not on the front lines and not to get engaged in a firefight with ISIS? This is the level of absurdity emanating from the White House and the… well, “fella” masquerading as a commander in chief.

So the United States just recently decided to bomb ISIS fuel trucks — what took so long? We’ve known ISIS is bankrolling some $5 million per month in black market oil revenues — why haven’t we struck these transport means? Could it be that we had imposed some insidious ROE precluding it from happening? Yes, I get it, we can’t attack the truck because we could hurt the truck driver and that would be a civilian casualty. Some of you may laugh, but I can imagine that or some artificial environmental concern like an oil spill is a reason why these trucks haven’t been previously engaged.

And if ISIS is so well contained — “geographically” — then why not establish “safe spaces” — like the little progressives-in-training seem to want on our college campuses — for the “Syrian refugees” and place a no fly zone over them?

If ISIS is geographically contained then they shouldn’t be able to command and control any operations outside of the restricted geography. Now, we know that’s all part of the deception and facade being presented to us, as if the American people are just that dumb — well, perhaps some.

In this modern day and age, there’s no such thing as geographic containment if you have a cell phone with the result being an Islamic terror operation ordered from Syria, logistically organized in Belgium, and executed in Paris. That, my friends, is not the sign of an enemy geographically contained.

The modern communications tools of the 21st century battlefield vastly expand the sphere of influence and ability to coordinate activities across the globe.

But back to the rules of engagement issue regarding our very anemic air campaign against ISIS. It does appear the immediate action by the French and Russians in response to the numbers of their citizens killed in France (129), Russia (224), with over 300 wounded in Paris has resulted in shaming President Obama and abandoning — or at least they’re talking about it — the artificial restrictions emplaced on our engagement of ISIS.

I’ve brought up previously the question of how does ISIS move freely across the open spaces of the desert in vehicle convoys and not get destroyed? How can it be that ISIS can conduct victory parades in broad daylight in places like Mosul, Ramadi, and Fallujah and there is no “highway of death?”

Y’all remember what happened with the Iraqi Army columns that tried to flee Kuwait City during Desert Storm? I do, it was a combat pilots’ dream and we had AH-64 Apaches, A-10s, and F-16s just stacked waiting to be vectored in to wreak havoc. Where are those resources now in relation to destroying ISIS and preventing their maneuver?

SecDef Ash Carter stated that the attacks on ISIS fuel convoys “reflected a changed tactics” — changed from what, and who ordered that foolishness in the first place? Are we back to the Vietnam War when President Lyndon Johnson was approving bombing targets out of the White House? Apparently that’s what’s been happening — no wonder our military is frustrated.

I think it’s time we come to this simple conclusion — President Obama has done nothing to thwart the advances of ISIS. Obama enabled Islamic jihadists to gain control in Libya. Obama supported the Muslim Brotherhood rising to power in Egypt. Obama entered into an agreement with the number one state sponsor of Islamic terror, Iran. Obama continues to release GITMO unlawful enemy combatants at a time when Islamic terrorism has increased and we are hardly done with this current conflagration.

Hmm, I do think there’s something in the U.S. Code about providing material support and comfort as well as aiding and abetting the enemy. Looks like that’s what’s been happening. And folks, I ain’t buying Obama all of a sudden being so concerned about Syrians — he showed very little care when his infamous “red line” was crossed.
