Trump just did TWO things that have me saying YGTBSM

Well, there are things that make you go hmm, and then there are things that make you go YGTBSM. Now, I know anytime one does not speak of President Donald Trump in a lofty and lording manner, folks get their necks up in a bow — that is southern lexicon meaning mad. However, it is the responsibility of this website to educate and inform you on those issues that have serious ramifications for our nation. And such is what I must share now.

I know there are times when one matures into the position of being president of the United States, and therefore “moderates” a previous position based on reality. And then there are just policy reversals.

This is the latter.

As reported by the Times of Israel, “The Trump administration notified Congress on Tuesday that Iran was complying with the 2015 nuclear deal negotiated by former President Barack Obama, and that it has extended the sanctions relief given to the Islamic Republic in exchange for curbs on its atomic program.

However, in a letter to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan sent late Tuesday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the administration has undertaken a full review of the agreement to evaluate whether continued sanctions relief is in the national interest.

Tillerson noted that Iran remains a leading state sponsor of terrorism and that President Donald Trump had ordered the review with that in mind. “Iran remains a leading state sponsor of terror, through many platforms and methods. President Donald J. Trump has directed a National Security Council-led interagency review of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action that will evaluate whether suspension of sanctions related to Iran pursuant to the JCPOA is vital to the national security interests of the United States,” read the letter by Tillerson.

The certification of Iran’s compliance, which must be sent to Congress every 90 days, is the first issued by the Trump administration. Trump has been an outspoken critic of the controversial agreement, calling it one of the “the worst deals I’ve ever seen negotiated,” and saying that Iran “lost respect [for the US] because they didn’t think anyone would be stupid as to make a deal like that.” He also argued that Iran was “emboldened” by the agreement to act confrontationally on the world stage. During his presidential campaign, Trump promised both to “dismantle the disastrous deal” and to “force the Iranians back to the bargaining table to make a much better deal.”

My first line of inquiry is, how did we verify that Iran is in compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action? If you recall, Iran clearly stated that they were not allowing anyone, certainly not U.S. inspectors into their country to take a gander at what they’re doing.

And we know Iran has indeed violated key aspects of the JCPOA with their firing of ballistic missiles and their acquisition of new weapons systems, namely the S300 surface to air missile and radar system bought from Russia. As well, Iran has deployed its terrorist organization forces such as the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and the Quds Force into Syria in order to prop up Bashar al-Assad. It would be a strategic imperative to undermine their support to Assad in order to isolate him and set the conditions for his eventual fall.

So, how can it be that President Trump can go from such a stance as to refer to the JCPOA in such unflattering terms to now saying it’s all good? I’d like to know what indicators the Trump National Security Council has that reassures them of this declarative statement, their first?

Seems to me harassing our naval vessels at sea is grounds for not supporting, certainly not certifying, Iranian compliance. Is this a serious and major foreign policy and national security campaign assertion that has been completely reversed? How can we expect a dismantling and forcing the Iranians back to the table over the JCPOA if the Trump administration has just granted the Iranians a “seal of approval?” And not for nothing, but isn’t that a sure way to further embolden the Islamic terrorist state?

But there’s yet another announcement that came on Wednesday which surely has me confounded. White House spokesperson Sean Spicer stated that the leader of the Fatah Islamist organization, Mahmoud Abbas, will visit the White House on May 3rd in order to continue talks about a long-lasting peace with Israel. Talk about a long lasting peace with Israel?

This is the same Abbas, aka Abu Mazen, who has praised jihadist knife attacks against innocent Israeli citizens. He is the same Abbas who sought out funding from Iran…which of course Barack Obama freely gave. This is the same Mahmoud Abbas who refuses to admit to Israel’s right to exist. It is the same Abbas who funnels world financial aid to the families of suicide bombers and names monuments and streets after them. And somehow, this is the same Abbas that President Trump wants to have a chat with about “long lasting peace” with Israel? Doggone, this cheeky fella, comrade of Yasser Arafat, has never sought out a lasting peace with Israel.

Just gotta tell ya, within this week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has to be scratching his head about these two revelations, on Iran’s compliance and the visit of Abbas. And have y’all noticed something else? Not a lot of talk from President Trump about moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem anymore.

Yes, I understand sitting and promoting a peaceful resolution to the situation in the Middle East. However, one should never sit or dance with the devil by the pale moonlight, and that’s what President Trump is doing. There would be peace in the Middle East if Islamic jihadists would put down their weapons. There would be peace if the nomadic Arabs who refer to themselves as Palestinians had accepted the United Nations decision of the two-state solution being Israel and Jordan. We cannot continue to allow this made-up entity — hence why I don’t refer to Abbas as a president; he’s a gang leader, Fatah, PLO. Palestine is a region, not a people, and the term was introduced by Roman Emperor Hadrian as a punishment for the Jewish Simon Bar Kokhbar rebellion. That is verifiable history.

Iran doesn’t want peace, nor does Abbas — who gives sanctuary to groups such as Islamic Jihad, Al Quds and Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. I was critical of Barack Obama giving his first phone call to Abbas and allowing the PLO to have a diplomatic mission in Washington DC. I offer the same criticism to President Trump who is demonstrating a very disconcerting policy reversal that will have immense consequences. And please President Trump, don’t give Abbas any chocolate cake.

There is very little difference between Hamas and Fatah. Hamas at least openly states who they are and their goals. Fatah has the same goals but uses deception in order to advance them. If I were president, there would be no meeting with Abbas, unless he publicly declared the recognition of the Jewish State of Israel, and eradicated any and all terrorist organizations from the areas he “controls.”

President Trump, this may appear to be a simple real estate deal to you, but lives have been lost, and even more are at stake. These two actions will embolden, not deter, the enemies of freedom.
